Two lesbians and a poodle.

That's how Robynne Sapp, Dotti Berry and their standard poodle, Rylee Joy, are known around the country.

They have been traveling since September with the intention of "engaging hearts and minds, creating authentic connections and dissolving differences" on the topic of same-sex relationships, as Berry puts it.

She and her partner believe, "You can't hate somebody whose story you don't know," and they attribute much anti-gay-marriage sentiment to a lack of one-on-one relationships between the gay and straight populations.

The Washington couple visited Colorado to speak at the Boulder Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays meeting Thursday evening. Sapp and Berry also will participate in the annual Soulforce gathering in front of the Focus on the Family building in Colorado Springs on Saturday.
