Diversity Beans™ is a wonderful candy product designed to help promote diversity and tolerance in corporations. Our jelly beans come in 6 different colors and 6 different flavors for a total of 36 combinations.  You can bite into a red Diversity Bean™ and it might be cherry, lemon, lime, white grape, orange, or licorice.

·         Stereotyping is a way of thinking (learned human behavior).

·         Prejudice is a way of feeling.

·         Discriminating is a way of behaving.

·         Oppressing is systematic subjugating of others,  leading to internalized oppression. 

Diversity Beans™ are intended to help people move beyond their differences, experiencing expectations that are not met. We hope this will make people stop to analyze their expectations, and how attachment to a specific outcome often leads to fear, disappointment, and distancing and/or avoidance of some people and situations.

 

People can and do move beyond stereotypes and prejudices to eradicate discrimination.  Rather than oppressing others, this allows them to simultaneously embrace people’s unique gifts, talents, and differences,  Doing this also helps alleviate internalized oppression.
